    The election of Officers to Skate Canada Newfoundland & Labrador’s Board of Directors will take place at the Annual General Meeting of the Section.

    The following positions will be elected at the 2019 SCNL Annual General Meeting:

    In accordance with Rule 1503(7) (f) all nominations must be received by the Chairman of the Nominating Committee on or before Thursday, March 28 , 2019 by noon.

  • Star 1-3 Seminar - Mar 22 2019

    Skate Canada NL and the Eastern Region are excited to host a STAR 1-3 seminar on Friday March 22 in Clarenville. Skaters at this level will participate in on and off ice classes with guest coach Rebecca Babb along with our provincial coaches.

    Eligibility: STAR 1-3 Skaters

    Registration Opens: Thursday March 7 *Maximum of 60 participants will be accepted.

    Application Fee: $50.00 per skater

  • Extra Ice at Paradise

    Please take note of extra ice time in Paradise for March 6th and 8th only:

    Wednesday will be for Intermediate skaters who normally skate Wednesday. Friday will be for Senior and Intermediate (anyone Senior and Intermediate not attending the synchro competition can attend).

    Wednesday, March 6th; 3:30 to 4:30, Rink A

    Friday, March 8th, 4-5 pm, Rink B

  • Upcoming cancellations at the Glacier

    Please note that there will not be any skating sessions this week at the Glacier from Wed - Sat due to the Home Show being hosted at the Glacier this weekend. Rink preparation is beginning at both rinks on Tuesday evening. While we were aware of the Home Show this weekend; we were not aware of the impact the set up would have to our ice schedule for this week until very recently. The club is looking into alternative ice time availability in lieu of the cancelled sessions. Once that is known, an update will be provided.

    Open Starlites head to the Skate Canada National Synchronized Skating Championships in Waterloo ON this weekend

    Following a gold medal performance at the Atlantic Canadian Regional Championships earlier this month, the Mount Pearl-Paradise Open Starlites synchro team will compete at the Skate Canada National Synchronized Skating Championships February 22-24, 2019 in Waterloo, ON.

  • Awards at Provincials

    This past weekend MPPSC received the Chapman Trophy award - this goes to the club accumulating the most points at Provinicials. Well done to all of our skaters who competed!

    Jaide Russell received the Balish Cup award, which is presented to the Most Artistic Skater. Congratulations, Jaide!

    Hundreds of skaters, parents, coaches and skating fans gathered in Gander February 15, 16 & 17 for the 50th Anniversary Skate Canada NL Provincial Skating Championships. Having earned the opportunity to compete at Provincials through their respective Divisional event or the Skate Canada NL Sectional Skating Championships many skaters earned championship titles or skated personal bests. For some categories, many skaters qualified for the Atlantic Canadian Championships that will be held in Nova Scotia March 30 & 31, 2019.
